Tragicky končící příběh je začleněn do koláže, do spleti žánrových stereotypů v melodramatickém opracování. Tato směsice je úmyslně realizována v manýristické poloze, mistry až na hranici romantického kýče; má vyjádřit jak dekadenci odcházející epochy, tak chaos, z něhož se nutně musí zrodit něco nového.
