آخرین قسمت از سری فیلم‌های هری پاتر، در جایی آغاز می‌شود که هری، رون و هرمیون به دنبال یافتن و نابود کردن سه هورکراکس باقی مانده‌ی ارباب تاریکی هستند، اشیاء جادویی‌ای که عمری جاویدان را برای او به ارمغان آورده‌اند. اما با آشکار شدن یادگاران مرگ، و اطلاع یافتن لرد ولدمورت از هدف هری و دوستانش، نبرد عظیمی آغاز می‌شود.
هری سومین سال را در مدرسه هاگوارتز سپری می‌کند و مشکلات جدیدی در انتظار او هستند. قاتل محکوم، سیریوس بلک از زندان جادوگران گریخته است و اکنون به دنبال هری می‌آید.
