Este filme conta-nos a história da 2ª metade da série de Tengen Toppa Gurenn Lagann, com algumas alterações na história. Passa-se 7 anos depois da batalha de Teppelin, quando os humanos voltaram a murar à superfície e passam por um momento de paz e prosperidade, até que de um momento para o outro, um novo inimigo surge e a Brigada Dai-Gurenn tem de se reunir uma vez mais.
