Στις αρχές του εικοστού αιώνα, ο Τσεν Τσεν επιστρέφει στη Σαγκάη για να παραστεί στην κηδεία του αγαπημένου του δασκάλου ο οποίος πέθανε μυστηριωδώς. Κατά την παραμονή του εκεί έρχεται αντιμέτωπος με την ρατσιστική δράση των Ιαπώνων πολεμιστών της περιοχής ενάντια στους Κινέζους. Παρά τις συμβουλές των φίλων του εμπλέκεται και ο ίδιος στη διαμάχη αυτή ενώ ταυτόχρονα διερευνά και το θάνατο του δασκάλου του.

Μια αθεόφοβη κινηματογραφική εξτραβαγκάντζα που αψηφά κάθε κώδικα χρηστής συμπεριφοράς, παρωδώντας ανελέητα όλα τα χολιγουντιανά μοτίβα. Ένα ντελίριο βίας και αλλοφροσύνης που βάζει βόμβα στους συμβατικούς ορισμούς της ομορφιάς και βγάζει τη γλώσσα στο κατεστημένο του καθωσπρεπισμού.

As the school also doesn't have enough teachers, Gena and Shapoklyak volunteer to be teachers.
