여주인공 에이바는 어느날 "나푤라"라는 악령에게 28일동안 빙의되게 되고 엑소시스트를 통해 힘겹게 악령을 내보내고 일상 생활로 돌아오게 됩니다. 악령에게 빙의된 28일동안 에이바는 범죄를 저지르게 되고 이러한 범죄로 감옥에 갈수 있다고 자신의 변호사에게 듣게됩니다. 그런데, 에이바는 기억이 없습니다. 그녀는 빙의 된 28일동안 1. 기물 파손과 폭행 2. 문란한 남자 관계, 외설적 노출, 남자친구와 결별 3. 친구들의 회피 방을 청소하던 에이바는 의문의 시계와 마룻바닥에 핏자국도 발견하게 됩니다. 피해자들의 고소로 에이바는 각종 혐의로 기소되고 해결책은 감옥에 가거나, 시설에 입소하거나, 빙의자 치료 모임에 참석 중 1개를 선택해야 했고 에이바는 기소항목 말소 조건으로 빙의자 치료 모임에 참석하기로 합니다. 빙의자 치료 모임의 치료과정은 영혼을 담는 그릇이란 목걸이를 이용해 마지막으로 빙의되었던 악령을 불러내는 것이었습니다. 다시 빙의된 상태에서 목걸이를 스스로 제거하면 훈련이 완료되고 아닌 경우는 치료가 계속하게 됩니다. 빙의자 모임에서 만난 헤이즐은 빙의시 악마에 매료되서 다시 빙의되고 싶어하고 에이바는 그녀를 도와주게 되고 헤이즐은 빙의에 성공하게 되자 행복해 합니다. 에이바는 빙의된 당시 자신이 일으킨 사고에 대한 것들을 하나씩 조사하고 용서를 구하기 시작합니다. 그러던 중 자신이 빙의되어 있을때 사건을 일으킨 원인들이 존재하고 이것들을 추적하면 할수록 더 복잡한 일들이 발생하게 되지만 결국 모든 원인을 알게된 에이바는 복수를 다짐하고 실행하게 됩니다.
