1999年的冬天，即开式福利彩票喧闹的发行现场不远处，有人在拆除了平房后的地表挖出金属来卖。几个十几岁的艳粉街年青人，在即将动迁的居民区里无聊漫顾，他们有时聚集在小卖部里谈论感兴趣的女孩或者其他话题，有时为女孩在寒冬中瑟瑟发抖的等待。这个冬天里，大部分艳粉街的家庭尚没有进入搬迁的实质阶段，年青人们仍然靠打架、聊天、游戏消磨度日，偶而也为工作的前途焦虑。随着越来越多的昔日邻居离开旧居，艳粉街失去了往日的格局，总有一些家庭为了切身的利益选择留下，2000年的冬天，一些年青人仍然重复着他们的生活，而遭遇断电断水的人们，开始为解决基本的生活需求而苦恼…… 　　本片是王兵《铁西区》系列纪录片的第二部。

Seeking to avoid arrest while fleeing through a city park at night, two jewel thieves, Gordon and young Tommy, stash some just-stolen jewels on elderly, unknowing Martha Abbott. They then invite Martha to come live with them as their housekeeper, duping her into helping fence their goods. When Martha eventually becomes aware of the criminal activities, she strives to help Tommy reform.

20世纪70年代，为了支持大海另一边的共产主义事业，回归所谓的"人间乐园（地上の楽園）"，自幼生长在日本的朝鲜人松浩（井浦新 饰）被父亲送回"故乡"朝鲜。由于朝鲜并未与日本建交，此一分别便再难想见，转眼便是25年漫长岁月。时至今日，松浩因为患病，被政府特许由监视人梁同志（梁益俊 饰）陪同赴日进行为期3个月的检查治疗。已是分别良久，一面是在意识形态下成长起来的哥哥，一面是自幼便在轻松自由的氛围下生活的妹妹理绘（安藤樱 饰），一面又是亲手将骨肉送往"故土"的父母，久别重逢的家人之间被奇妙而尴尬的氛围所笼罩。在此期间，松浩还重逢了当年的同学，同窗相见分外欣喜。喜悦的另一面，医院的检查治疗结果却并不理想，3个月的治疗期远远不够。为了让哥哥接受更为有效的治疗，理绘往来奔走，想尽一切办法。就在此时，朝鲜方面的一通电话，命令哥哥次日归国……
