Gandalf und Pippin erreichen Minas Tirith und warnen Denethor, den Truchsess von Gondor, vor dem heranziehenden Krieg. Während der Geschehnisse in Gondor geht die Reise von Frodo und Sam weiter. Mittlerweile haben sie Mordor betreten und sind weit gekommen.
