After interviewing three Kingsbury locals, director Cait Davis used the audio from their interviews to create a stop-motion animation where the construction of each puppet “actor” is influenced by the content of the interview stories. From the inside of a fabricated miniature honky tonk bar, each character shares a story of their rural American home-town; examining small-town lore and the importance of embracing humanity's rich and textured history viewed through the lens of Kingsbury, Texas.

In the 1880's a ruthess gang of outlaws terroized the Southwest. These renegades were led by the notorious Bloody Jack Ryker and his top gun, Johnny Vermillion. Three men stood in their way. Stormy Lane and his two sidekicks, Cimarron Simmons and Texas Clapsaddle with the help of young Billy Wood pursue this band of cutthroats through the badlands of Texas.

Samson Peabody-Jones sets out to conquer the untamed west in 1881, in this remarkable film featuring a cast and crew of 100 talented school children. You'll enjoy the escapades of Peabody-Jones as he braves the frontier in search of adventure and finds a life of danger as well as rewards. It takes a miner's ghost, a mysterious parcel and finally the U.S. Cavalry to bring the story to a happy ending. A recommended featurette, with an excellent and original soundtrack score, but very difficult to find.
