Comedian Beth Stelling takes the stage at Minneapolis’ Varsity Theater to talk sex, drugs, and babies in her hilarious new special Beth Stelling: Girl Daddy. Musing on the ways that sexual pleasure is different for men and women, Stelling’s not ashamed to admit that she always thinks her massage therapist is falling for her – and is not afraid to call male comedians out for making lazy #MeToo jokes. Stelling also shares her takes on being a relationship person, having reverse body dysmorphia, alternative wedding traditions, her relationship with her Orlando-based actor father whose personality is “Fox News,” talking sex with her may-as-well-be-virginal mom, and how her sisters just love to make babies.
Registration of the seventh solo show by the Dutch comedian Pieter Derks.
Performing for a packed house at Spreckels Theater in San Diego, comedian Patton Oswalt delivers a blistering stand-up set in his trademark blend of acerbic wit and unabashed silliness. Registration of the second theatre program by the Dutch comedy duo (Erik) van Muiswinkel and (Diederik) van Vleuten. In their first program, the two comedians limited themselves to the earth and the strange peoples who inhabit it. In their second program they expand their explorations into the world of the unseen, where they test their strength with astrologers, illusionists, millennium preachers and similar figures. What mechanisms drive people to believe in supernatural madness, and to derive pleasure and comfort from it? Have we made any progress in the twentieth century? If Darwin, Freud and Einstein opened humanity's eyes, then a hundred years later there will be enough volunteers to close them again. Van Muiswinkel and Van Vleuten argue about it for a long time during this performance.
In his first stand up special, Tom Clark (Conan, Comedy Central) makes fun of stand up comedy specials, himself, drunks, marriage, gangs, TSA, rescue animals, hecklers, elevators, beach balls, cosmetic companies, classic rock, handshakes, love, and a guy named Sleepy Joe. If you're "Outraged" by any of those things, you'll love his special.
