Taking its title from an archaic Japanese word meaning "ghost story," this anthology adapts four folk tales. A penniless samurai marries for money with tragic results. A man stranded in a blizzard is saved by Yuki the Snow Maiden, but his rescue comes at a cost. Blind musician Hoichi is forced to perform for an audience of ghosts. An author relates the story of a samurai who sees another warrior's reflection in his teacup.

Yet director Derek Robbins also veers into some of the same uncanny territory directors like José Larraz would later explore at feature length, making it a unique hybrid. In fact, The Sex Victims would make a perfect bill cousin for Larraz’s Vampyres (1974) for the way in which it combines ample nudity with supernatural elements. (BFI)

A comic book artist uses supernatural means to avenge his mother's death.

Three unattractive guys named Ha-neul, Chan-hong and Su-ho go on a trip to Haeundae beach. Chan-hong is excited in the hope of meeting some girls. Su-ho says he knows the place with a lot of girls, but it turns out to be a restricted area not open to swimming. After a disappointment, they turn their minds and decide to have fun by themselves. And then, a beautiful woman passes by, and the three guys try to be close to her. On that night, they visit the woman's tent and disappears one after the other.

Oxford professor Rex Shepherd stays at an out of the way hotel in a secluded English coastal spot. During his stay he follows the directions contained in a mysterious book, venturing over to a Roman temple, which turns out to be a ruined Roman pet cemetery. Here he discovers an old chest hidden within a wall – and inside the chest he finds a leather, bone-shaped artefact, which he takes back to his hotel room. After deciphering the latin written on the artefact, he squeezes the object, making it squeak like some kind of ancient dog toy. Now Rex Shepherd will soon find out that something is going to come out to play…
