Three friends decide to hire a prostitute on the day of the Aatukaal Pongala - a Hindu festival in Trivandrum - when their wives are busy.

The film starts in a street in Fort Kochi where Vasco da Gama, the son of a wrestler named Michael, lives. Vasco and his gang of five — Chandrappan, Susheelan, Sainu, Basheer and cousin Tomichchan are small-time goondas, involved in petty offences and as the movie progresses, these characters turn out to be more endearing than bad.

An adaptation of the Hollywood film Trapped (2002), which itself was based on Greg Iles's novel 24 Hours, the film also borrows premises from the Canadian film Butterfly on a Wheel (2007).

The story revolves around five people who are enjoying their life in Kochi. Indrajith Sukumaran plays a creative ad director; Remya Nambeesan as Veena plays a trained dancer; Nivin Pauly plays a waiter at a cafe; Prathap Pothen plays a psychologist; and Lena Abhilash plays the head of a corporation.
