Oldboy bercerita tentang Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik) yang secara tiba-tiba diculik oleh sekelompok orang. Tanpa mengerti permasalahannya, Oh Dae-su kemudian dikurung di sebuah ruangan misterius.
