曹操の元へ男装して潜入していた孫権の妹・尚香は、疫病で亡くなった兵士たちの死体が船に積まれ、連合軍のいる対岸へ流されていく光景を目撃する。死体に触れた連合軍の兵士から次々と疫病が感染し、曹操の非情なやり方に周瑜をはじめ、連合軍は憤りを感じ、劉備軍は自軍の兵と民のために撤退を決意するが、孔明はただひとり戦地に残るのだった。
